About the role
As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth of our Private Charging business by developing accurate, competitive and commercially sound cost estimates for customer projects ranging from fleet electrification programs through to commercial EV charging installations.
Working closely with Deployment, Engineering, Procurement, Commercial and Business Development teams, you will translate technical requirements into robust pricing models, evaluate contractor and supplier submissions, and continuously improve our estimating processes and tools. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team at the forefront of Australia's energy transition and help shape how Ampol delivers charging solutions for customers across a range of industries.
This is a permanent, full-time role based in our Alexandria office with a hybrid-working arrangement. We are also open to candidates in Melbourne and Brisbane.
Key responsibilities

Develop accurate cost estimates and pricing submissions based on customer requirements, technical specifications, drawings and scope documents.

Prepare pricing models, cost breakdowns and supporting commercial documentation for customer proposals and tenders.

Engage with engineering, deployment, procurement and commercial teams to validate project scope, risks, timelines and costs.

Evaluate supplier and contractor quotations to ensure competitive and market-aligned pricing.

Maintain and enhance estimating tools, cost databases and unit pricing schedules to improve accuracy and efficiency.

Support budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis for strategic sales opportunities.

Assist Business Development teams with RFIs, tender clarifications and customer pricing requests.

Coordinate project handovers from Business Development through to project delivery teams.
Qualifications & Experience
-
Experience preparing estimates for electrical infrastructure, construction, utilities, renewable energy or similar project-based environments.

Strong understanding of contractor, supplier and subcontractor pricing structures.

Ability to interpret technical specifications, construction drawings and scope documentation.

Commercially minded with experience developing budgets, cost models and tender submissions.

Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.

Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across multiple functions and external partners.

Experience within EV charging, electrical infrastructure, renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects will be highly regarded.
