The Platform Manager is responsible for the leadership, governance, capability development and operational management of the ServiceNow and Salesforce platform teams. This role ensures the effective delivery, stability, security, and continuous improvement of both platforms by providing strong people leadership, establishing and maintaining platform standards and development frameworks, and overseeing release and deployment management processes.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Information Management and Technology Division guides the department's digital capability and is leading digital transformation for Victorian government schools. The division architects, manages and supports the largest technology network in Victoria, supporting a user base of approximately 750,000 staff and students.
IMTD provides innovation and leadership in the transformation and management of the department's digital capability through the implementation of solutions on the department's cloud environment (IaaS), enterprise cloud platforms (PaaS) and software (SaaS), using agile practices with a focus on user experience, security, and integration.

The Platform Manager drives consistent engineering practices, including coding standards, quality assurance, and platform governance, while enabling teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and business-aligned solutions. Through effective stakeholder engagement and team development, the role ensures platform capabilities support organisational objectives and long-term technology strategy

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory
Demonstrated experience leading technical or platform teams in a medium to large enterprise environment.

Experience managing enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Salesforce, or comparable SaaS platforms.

Experience establishing and maintaining platform governance frameworks, development standards, coding standards, and quality assurance practices.

Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing multidisciplinary technical teams.

Experience managing team performance, workforce planning, recruitment, and capability development.
Desirable

Demonstrated experience leading a high-velocity DevOps practice, including CI/CD pipeline management, release governance, and fostering a culture of automation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

ServiceNow certifications (e.g., Certified System Administrator, Certified Implem entation Specialist, or equivalent).

Salesforce certifications (e.g., Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer, or equivalent).

Agile, Scrum, SAFe, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent delivery/project management certification.
