Trainee Printer & Photocopier Technician
- Company: The Photocopier Man
- Location: Brisbane / South East Queensland
- Work Type: Full-Time, Entry-Level (Comprehensive Training Provided)
About Us
The Photocopier Man is a rapidly growing managed print services business supporting clients across Brisbane and South East Queensland. We pride ourselves on reliability and top-tier service.
We are expanding our team and looking for a motivated, practical Junior Photocopier & Printer Technician to grow with us. If you love working with your hands, have a genuine interest in technology, and want to learn a specialised trade, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
This is a full-time, highly hands-on technical role where you will learn the industry from the ground up. Working alongside our experienced senior technicians, you will receive full training to inspect, service, repair, and maintain multi-function devices.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Technical Maintenance: Diagnosing hardware/software faults and performing routine servicing and repairs.
- Parts & Consumables: Replacing components, toner, and maintenance kits.
- Setup & Testing: Preparing, configuring, and testing machines in the workshop before deployment.
- Logistics & Field Work: Assisting with machine deliveries, heavy lifting, and on-site installations.
- Client Service: Attending client offices across Brisbane and South East QLD to provide professional on-site support.
About You
We don't expect you to know how to fix a photocopier on day one—we will teach you that. However, to excel in this role, you must bring the right foundational skills:
- Mechanically Minded: You enjoy taking things apart, figuring out how they work, and using tools to fix them.
- Strong IT Foundations: You are confident with computers, software applications, and basic networking concepts (setting up printers on a network is a big part of the job).
- Physically Fit: This is an active role that involves moving, lifting, and loading heavy commercial printing equipment.
- Professional & Reliable: You are punctual, well-presented, and comfortable communicating professionally with business clients.
Role Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
- A current, clean, full MANUAL driver’s licence (essential for driving company transit vehicles).
- Strong practical problem-solving skills and a "can-do" attitude.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Eligibility to work full-time in Australia.
What We Offer
- Stable Full-Time Employment: Long-term career progression in a friendly small-business environment.
- Expert Mentorship: One-on-one, on-the-job training from experienced senior technicians.
- A Varied Work Week: A great balance between workshop-based technical work and active field service on client sites.
- Company Vehicle: Potential access to a company vehicle for work and private use upon successful completion of your probation period.
- Competitive Entry-Level Pay: Wages will be discussed openly based on your current skills, experience, and attitude.
