We understand the important role pets can play in improving the quality of life for many, and we are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Female Disability Support Worker who is comfortable working in an environment with pets. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily support to individuals with disabilities in various environments (home, community, etc.).
- Assist with personal care, daily living activities, and emotional support.
- Encourage social, emotional, and physical development through structured activities.
- Work collaboratively with family members and other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of the client.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment, including when interacting with pets in the home.
- Promote independence and quality of life while respecting the client’s wishes and preferences.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience in disability support or similar care roles.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature, with a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities.
- Comfortable and confident working in a pet-friendly environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and adapt to the changing needs of clients.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications in disability support, care, or similar fields (preferred).
- A valid driver’s license.
- Clear communication.
- Can work 4-5 hour shifts.
