As a Laptop Repair Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, upgrading, and preparing laptops for resale. You will work with a range of brands including Dell, HP, Lenovo, Microsoft Surface, and Apple devices.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for electronics and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose hardware and software issues across a wide range of laptop models
- Install and configure Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems
- Download, install, and verify all required drivers, BIOS updates, and firmware
- Replace and upgrade components including: Keyboards, SSDs and NVMe drives, Batteries, RAM, Wi-Fi cards, Screens and touchpads (desirable)
- Perform data wiping and device resets using approved software
- Conduct functional testing, including: Battery health checks,Keyboard and trackpad testing, Display and webcam testing, Audio, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth checks, USB and charging port testing
- Troubleshoot boot issues, BIOS settings, and hardware compatibility
- Maintain accurate repair records and update inventory systems
- Ensure all refurbished devices meet company quality standards before dispatch
- Keep the workshop organised and maintain adequate stock levels of spare parts
Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour
