Occupation – Carpenters and Formwork Carpenters Required

Position Overview
We are seeking qualified and experienced Carpenters and Formwork Carpenter to join our Melbourne-based construction team. The role is primarily site-based and involves the construction, installation and dismantling of structural formwork for commercial and civil concrete projects.
This is a hands-on trade position requiring strong carpentry skills, the ability to interpret engineering drawings and experience working in reinforced concrete environments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret structural and architectural drawings to determine formwork layout and construction requirements
- Set out and prepare materials for formwork installation including slabs, columns, beams, retaining walls and suspended decks
- Construct and install timber and proprietary formwork systems in accordance with engineering specifications
- Accurately measure, cut, and assemble timber and sheet materials to required tolerances
- Ensure formwork is level, square, aligned and securely braced prior to concrete pouring
- Coordinate with steel fixers and concreters to ensure reinforcement placement and pour readiness
- Inspect completed formwork structures to ensure compliance with project and safety standards
- Safely strip and dismantle formwork after curing, maintaining reusable components
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently in a construction environment
- Maintain compliance with site safety procedures and Victorian OH&S regulations
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organised worksite
Skills and Experience Required
- Trade qualification in Carpentry (Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent) OR 3 years work exp.
- Experience working on commercial or civil construction sites
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Strong understanding of reinforced concrete construction processes
- Commitment to workplace safety

Pay: $77,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
