Build your confidence, grow your career and find the support to become the veterinarian you want to be.
Imagine arriving at work knowing you never have to figure everything out alone.
At VetWest Ellenbrook, you’ll be surrounded by a positive, close-knit team that believes great veterinary medicine comes from working together. Whether you want to talk through a case, develop a clinical skill or simply get a second opinion, support is always nearby.
You’ll work closely with an experienced Head Veterinarian, skilled vets and knowledgeable nurses who genuinely enjoy mentoring, sharing ideas and helping one another grow.
This is a role where questions are welcomed, learning is encouraged and your development will never feel like an afterthought.
Your morning might begin with consults, knowing there is an experienced colleague available if you encounter something unfamiliar. Between appointments, you could talk through a diagnostic plan with the Head Veterinarian or ask one of the nurses for their insight into a patient they know well.
Later, you may have the opportunity to develop a new skill with someone beside you to guide and support you. Over time, the cases that once felt daunting begin to feel more familiar - and your confidence continues to grow.
You’ll be encouraged to take ownership of your development at a pace that feels right for you, with a team that knows when to offer guidance and when to give you space to back yourself.
At VetWest Ellenbrook, mentorship isn’t limited to scheduled meetings or formal training sessions. It happens in the everyday moments—working through cases together, reviewing diagnostic results, sharing practical tips and reflecting on what went well.
You’ll be supported by:
-
An experienced Head Veterinarian who is invested in your clinical and professional development
-
Skilled and passionate veterinarians who enjoy discussing cases and sharing their knowledge
-
Experienced nurses who are an integral part of the clinical team and provide valuable practical support
-
A team culture where asking for help is encouraged
-
Access to knowledge and support across the wider VetWest and VetPartners network
You may already have a clear idea of where you want your veterinary career to take you—or you may still be discovering what interests you most. Either way, we’ll support you in exploring your strengths and building a career that feels meaningful.
As part of the wider VetPartners network, you’ll have opportunities to develop your clinical interests, strengthen your general practice skills and explore future pathways in areas such as mentoring, leadership or clinic management.
Your career progression doesn’t need to follow one set path. We’ll work with you to understand what growth looks like for you and help you take the next step when you’re ready.
We understand that life outside the clinic matters, too.
We’re open to discussing a flexible working arrangement and roster that supports both you and the needs of the clinic. Whether you’re looking for full-time or part-time hours, we’d love to have an honest conversation about what could work.
Our goal is to create a role that allows you to contribute meaningfully, continue developing and enjoy a sustainable veterinary career.
You’ll have access to:
-
$2,000 annual CPD allowance
-
One week of study leave each year
-
Free courses and workshops through our own Veterinary Training Centre
-
Visa sponsorship & relocation allowance available for eligible candidates
-
Ongoing mentorship from the Head Veterinarian, current vets and experienced nurses
-
Opportunities to learn from skilled clinicians across the VetWest and VetPartners network
You’ll also have access to:
-
Our Re-fur a Friend program, with the potential to earn up to $15,000 when you refer someone who joins the VetPartners network
-
Professional connections and future career opportunities across the broader VetWest and VetPartners network
We’re looking for a veterinarian who is enthusiastic, compassionate and eager to keep learning.
You’ll ideally:
-
Be comfortable managing a general practice caseload with support available when needed
-
Enjoy working collaboratively with vets, nurses and support team members
-
Be open to feedback, mentorship and continued development
-
Take pride in providing thoughtful, high-quality patient and client care
-
Hold, or be eligible to hold, veterinary registration in Western Australia
You don’t need to have every skill perfected. What matters most is your willingness to learn, contribute and become part of the team.
The early and middle stages of your veterinary career should be a time when you feel supported to learn, encouraged to ask questions and excited about what comes next.
At VetWest Ellenbrook, you’ll find experienced people to learn from, nurses who will have your back and genuine opportunities to shape a career that grows alongside you.
If you’re looking for strong mentorship, meaningful career progression and greater flexibility, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today or get in touch for a confidential conversation about what a role at VetWest Ellenbrook could look like for you.
