About the role
As an Underground Electrical Technician at Ernest Henry, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving electrical systems that support underground operations across site.
Reporting to the Underground Electrical Supervisor, you will ensure all electrical work is carried out safely, efficiently and in compliance with site and regulatory standards, contributing to asset reliability and production performance.
You will combine strong technical capability with a safety-first mindset, supporting continuous improvement and maintaining high operational standards across underground infrastructure.
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Carrying out electrical maintenance, repairs and installations on underground fixed plant and auxiliary systems
- Ensuring all work complies with Mines Regulations, Australian Standards and Evolution policies
- Conducting inspections, testing and maintaining accurate work order records
- Supporting asset management activities including CMMS updates and drawing revisions
- Leading by example in safety standards and mentoring apprentices and contractors
- Identifying improvement opportunities to enhance asset reliability and performance
- Supporting compliance, audits and reporting requirements
- Working collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams
About you
You are a qualified Electrical Mechanic or Fitter Mechanic with strong experience in industrial or mining environments and a commitment to safe, high-quality work.You bring a proactive approach, enjoy problem-solving and collaborate effectively with teams to maintain and improve operational performance.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience
- Electrical trade qualification (Electrical Mechanic or Fitter Mechanic)
- Experience in mining or heavy industry environments
- Exposure to underground fixed plant, HV networks and auxiliary systems
- Strong fault-finding, testing and maintenance capability
- Experience with compliance, documentation and work order systems
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to complete S1, S2, S3 Supervisor training
- Strong safety focus and commitment to continuous improvement
