About the Role & Our Company:
Licence Now is a fast-growing, independent driving school marketplace platform operating across the Perth metro area.
We have just migrated our core infrastructure completely internally onto a dedicated cloud environment (Cloudways) and are building our own internal engineering department. We are seeking a sharp, autonomous, Perth-based Laravel Specialist to take technical ownership of the platform.
This role begins immediately as a highly flexible casual position working from home (an initial 20-hour feature sprint, followed by a steady 3 hours per week of ongoing layout optimizations and maintenance backlog tasks).
However, as our fleet footprint and regional booking volume scale over the next 6–8 months, this position is contractually and financially structured to transition into a permanent, local part-time and eventual full-time In-Office Lead Developer role.
Core Deliverables (Initial 20-Hour Sprint):
- Audit and confirm security of site and fix minor bugs
- Deploy Stripe's official Laravel SDK Payment Element to activate single-tap Apple Pay and Google Pay directly on our Step 4 checkout form.
- Integrate standard PayPal Smart Buttons alongside our existing credit card gateway.

Technical Requirements:
- Native Framework Competency: Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting within the Laravel Framework, Blade templating, and Eloquent ORM.
- E-Commerce Integration: Proven track record of cleanly deploying and testing Stripe APIs (specifically Payment Elements) and PayPal payment gateways.
- Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity navigating Cloudways server consoles, provisioning staging applications, and executing basic domain/DNS record mapping.
- Front-End Alignment: Ability to inspect Figma design templates and translate visual assets cleanly into code using Tailwind CSS or standard responsive frameworks.
- Version Control: Use of Git/GitHub for safe branch management, code history tracking, and isolated local testing environments.
- Local Proximity: MUST reside locally in Perth, WA, for initial face-to-face strategy meetings and to align with our future brick-and-mortar office scaling.
