The Royal Hospital for Women is a multi-faceted tertiary referral and teaching hospital, internationally recognised as one of the world’s leading centres for the care of mothers, babies, and women with benign gynaecological and gynae-oncology conditions. As the only stand-alone women’s hospital in New South Wales, it offers unique opportunities for innovative clinical practice and is committed to delivering excellence in women’s health care through both practice and ongoing research.
The Physiotherapy team supports women, men, and gender-diverse individuals with conditions related to cancer treatment, pregnancy, menopause, and lymphoedema. They work with patients to assess needs, set personalised goals, and provide tailored treatments and exercise programs. From the first appointment, they listen to patients’ concerns and develop a plan to help manage symptoms and improve quality of life, both now and in the long term.
The Role
Coordinate, implement and evaluate effective physiotherapy education and development initiatives for students, and existing staff within the Royal Hospital for Women in order to provide high quality physiotherapy care to women and birthing mothers of the Royal Hospital for Women consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.

Selection Criteria:
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in Women’s Health physiotherapy
- Demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills, and an understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders including education providers.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a complex nature.
- Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
Current drivers licence (or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
