Chef - full time

· 7-day dining, 11.30am - 9pm, flexible rosters available
· Income range $76,000-$80,000
· Weekends and evening availability essential
The 5th Quarter Restaurant is one of Trinity Beach’s biggest venues within a well-appointed Club. The club dining areas are more than a restaurant - they are a community hub, catering to the needs of locals, members and guests.
We are looking for a qualified chef to add to our already busy kitchen team.
The position offers excellent working conditions in a friendly team environment.
The Role
Excellent opportunity for a qualified chef to work within a supportive team and a fast-paced club kitchen while taking ownership of a key part of the restaurant offering. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team of chefs to prepare the kitchen for service and cook a diverse range of meals.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Assist in planning menus and food preparation with the Head Chef, factoring in food and labour costs, and order kitchen supplies and equipment as needed.
- Consult with the Head Chef, management, and front-of-house staff on menu changes, dietary needs, and food preparation matters.
- Check incoming deliveries and ingredients on hand for freshness and quality before use.
- Prepare and store food stuffs correctly, maintaining stock rotation, correct temperatures, and quality control at all times.
- Show less experienced kitchen staff proper cooking methods and offer guidance on technique.
- Cook and season a diverse range of dishes to the standard expected by the club.
- Check dishes throughout preparation and before service for taste, texture, portion size, and presentation.
- Plate meals and finish with sauces, gravies, and garnishes to spec.
- Cater for dietary requirements such as allergies and intolerances where requested by guests or members.
- Follow and promote safe food handling, hygiene, and WHS practices in the kitchen at all times.
Skills and Experience:
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- 3 years’ experience

Pay: $76,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
