Boddington is a flagship Newmont gold and copper operation in Western Australia, located about 130 kilometres south-east of Perth and 16 kilometres from the rural town of Boddington. As one of Australia's largest gold producers, Boddington is recognised for its leadership in innovation and technology, including becoming the world's first gold mine to implement an Autonomous Haulage System.

As a Control Room Specialist, you’ll provide leadership, coaching and operational direction to support safe, efficient and consistent autonomous haulage operations at Boddington. You’ll strengthen Mine Control capability, improve system performance and help ensure operating practices remain aligned with site requirements and established standards.
- Lead, coach and support the Autonomous System Advisor function and Mine Control team, setting clear priorities and strengthening operational capability.

Maintain and improve control room procedures, quick reference guides, training assessments and operating practices to support consistent and compliant execution.

Guide the response, escalation and investigation of autonomous system incidents, ensuring learnings are converted into practical improvements.

Analyse operational and system performance data to identify risks, constraints and opportunities that improve safety, productivity and reliability.

Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, technical services, technology vendors and site leadership to deliver system improvements, standardise processes and support technology deployment.
- Strong practical knowledge of autonomous mining operations, Mine Control workflows, system configuration, incident response and control room practices.

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop technical and operational team members.

Capability to maintain clear procedures, training resources, assessments and operational standards.

Ability to interpret operational data, identify performance trends and translate findings into practical improvement actions.

Effective change, project and relationship management skills, with the ability to work across operations, maintenance, engineering, technical services and external technology providers.
This role is based at Newmont’s Boddington mine site and is offered on a 5:2, 4:3 roster. You’ll work closely with Mine Control, autonomous systems personnel, mining operations, maintenance, engineering, mine technical services, external technology providers and site leadership to support safe and effective autonomous operations.
