Details: As a Technical Program Manager with the ACT Parks and Conservation Service, you’ll take the lead on delivering a large-scale program of fire trail upgrades and land remediation across more than 2500km of essential infrastructure. Working at the intersection of engineering, environmental stewardship and emergency management, you’ll drive projects from concept through to construction, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high technical standard while supporting bushfire preparedness and protecting some of Canberra’s most valued natural landscapes.
This role provides technical direction across complex civil and environmental works, manages procurement and contracts, leads a small, focused team, and collaborates with stakeholders across government, industry and the community. We’re looking for a highly skilled and organised professional with deep technical knowledge, program delivery experience and a proven ability to manage infrastructure in sensitive natural environments.

Class C Driver Licence

A tertiary degree in environment science, natural resource management, civil/environmental engineering, or project management, with relevant experience relevant to the role of at least 10 years AND/OR equivalent associated qualifications AND/OR extensive and detailed experience in a relevant field.

Experience or willingness to undertake incident management duties, including participation in fire standby, mitigation, suppression and training.
Note: This is a temporary position available for up to 12 months with the possibility of permanency.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.

Please note, this position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
