About the role
As a Clinical Trials Pharmacist, you will provide advanced clinical trials pharmacy services in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) requirements, Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) standards, and RMH policies and procedures.
You will be responsible for the coordination and management of investigational products throughout the clinical trial lifecycle, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities
Provide advanced clinical trials pharmacy services in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) requirements, Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) standards, and RMH policies and procedures.
Manage investigational medicines across their lifecycle, including ordering, receipt, storage, preparation, dispensing, accountability, destruction and sterile manufacturing where required.
Provide expert pharmacy services to clinical trial participants, ensuring the safe and effective use of investigational medicines according to protocol and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate and comprehensive drug accountability records and trial documentation.
Coordinate clinical trial pharmacy activities, including trial start-up, protocol review and implementation, amendments, close-out, electronic medication management and liaison with investigators, sponsors and multidisciplinary teams.
Participate in site initiation visits, routine monitoring visits, audits and inspections.
Contribute to education, supervision, research, quality improvement, service development, policy and procedure development, and maintain contemporary clinical trial knowledge through ongoing professional development.
Participate in the clinical trials on-call roster and support associated operational and financial processes to ensure safe, high-quality and efficient clinical trial pharmacy services.
About You
Registered as a pharmacist with AHPRA, with at least 2 years' hospital pharmacy experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice, including Advanced Pharmacy Australia (AdPha) practice standards and Good Manufacturing Practice.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal and staff supervision skills, with a commitment to customer-focused care.
Ability to prioritise workload, perform effectively under pressure and participate in a roster providing direct patient care.
Commitment to continuous quality improvement, ongoing professional development and maintaining contemporary pharmacy practice.
Desirable
Relevant post graduate qualification
Demonstrated commitment to development of the profession through involvement in relevant pharmacy organisations. (e.g. AdPha, PSA, ACPP, AHP) or participation in relevant groups
