The Royal Geelong Yacht Club is seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Hand / Dishwasher to join our busy hospitality team. This is a casual position offering 16-25 hours per week, with additional hours available during the busy summer and festive season.
This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and be part of a supportive team at one of Geelong's premier waterfront venues.
About the Role
As a Kitchen Hand / Dishwasher, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by maintaining cleanliness, assisting chefs, and supporting food service during restaurant trade and club functions.
Regular Shifts
- Wednesday evenings
- Friday evenings
- Saturday lunch service
- Sunday lunch service
- Additional shifts available for private functions, events, and peak trading periods
Key Responsibilities
- Washing dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment
- Assisting with basic food preparation as required
- Cleaning kitchen workstations and storage areas
- Following food safety and hygiene standards
- Assisting chefs and kitchen staff with general duties
- Supporting the kitchen team during busy service periods and events
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Be reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Be available to work evenings and weekends
- Have good communication and teamwork skills
- Previous kitchen hand or hospitality experience is desirable but not essential
