Mechanic / Service Technician — Industrial Equipment | Training Provided
SA Sweepers & Scrubbers is looking for a reliable, mechanically minded person to join our Adelaide team as a Service & Repair Technician.
We service and repair industrial floor cleaning machines used in warehouses, car parks, shopping centres, factories and commercial facilities across South Australia.
You do not need previous experience with sweepers or scrubbers. If you have hands-on mechanical experience with cars, forklifts, trailers, small engines, pumps, machinery, plant equipment, batteries, electric motors or similar equipment, we would like to hear from you.
Training will be provided on our specific machines and brands, including Nilfisk, Viper and other industrial cleaning equipment.
This role would suit someone who enjoys practical repair work, fault-finding, working independently and getting out on the road to customer sites.

Mechanic / Service Technician — Industrial Sweepers & Scrubbers
Location: Adelaide, South Australia
Pay: $33.85 – $37.00 per hour, based on experience, plus super
Employment Type: Casual, with the opportunity for long-term employment

About the Role
This is a hands-on service and repair role working on commercial sweeping and scrubbing machines.
The role involves diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, completing preventative maintenance, and attending customer sites across Adelaide using a company service vehicle.
Applicants should have practical mechanical ability and be confident using tools, solving problems and working with machinery or equipment.
Full training will be provided on the specific machines.
Key Responsibilities
- Service and repair industrial floor sweepers and scrubbers
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and battery system faults
- Repair and maintain electric, battery, LPG and engine-driven equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and preventative servicing
- Attend breakdowns and scheduled service jobs across Adelaide
- Drive a company service vehicle from the warehouse to customer sites
- Communicate professionally with customers during service visits
- Complete service reports and basic job documentation
- Work independently while representing the company professionally
Essential Requirements
- Hands-on mechanical experience or strong practical repair ability
- Ability to fault-find and solve problems
- Experience with machinery, vehicles, forklifts, small engines, plant equipment or similar highly regarded
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems, batteries, pumps, motors or electrical systems
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Good attention to detail
- Current full driver’s licence
- Confident and legally able to drive a manual company service vehicle
Preferred Experience
- Experience with mobile equipment or mobile plant
- Experience with forklifts, sweepers, scrubbers, access equipment, small engines, machinery or industrial equipment
- Mechanical, electrical, automotive or trade background
- Experience with battery-powered, LPG or electric equipment
- Field service experience highly regarded
- Ability to safely tow and reverse a trailer preferred, but not essential
