Role 1: Experienced Geotechnical Engineer ×2
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 + super | Experience: 4–8 years
About This Role
Step into a role where your technical expertise directly shapes construction outcomes. You'll deliver and certify geotechnical reports, run advanced analyses, and mentor the next generation of investigators — all while building towards technical leadership.
What You'll Do
- Review, certify, and sign off Lot/Site Classification reports (AS1726, AS2870, AS2159, NSW & QLD standards)
- Lead bulk earthworks investigations and designs from brief to final report
- Run Plaxis 2D/3D analyses for embankments, slopes, and retaining structures
- Prepare geotechnical reports, slope stability assessments, and earthworks specifications
- Conduct and oversee field investigations, soil/rock logging, and earthworks testing
- Mentor junior engineers and Site Investigators
- Contribute to QA systems, reporting templates, and continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
- 4–8 years' geotechnical engineering experience
- Hands-on bulk earthworks design and reporting background
- Solid Plaxis 2D/3D modelling skills
- Geotester reporting experience
- NER and RPEQ registered
- Willingness to cross-train in Screw Pier foundation design
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (or related)
- CPEng accreditation highly regarded
- Clear communicator who takes ownership and drives outcomes
Role 2: Senior Geotechnical Engineer ×1
Salary: $120,000 – $140,000 + super | Experience: 7+ years
About This Role
This is a cornerstone technical leadership role. You'll be the go-to authority on complex geotechnical challenges, drive capability expansion, and set the quality benchmark across the entire team. You'll sign off on critical reports, manage large-scale projects, and directly influence how IdealCorp grows.
What You'll Do
- Review and sign off on Lot/Site Classification reports — NSW and QLD standards
- Deliver geotechnical site assessments, slope stability, contamination assessments, pavement design, footing inspections, and Level 1 compaction
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and build a culture of quality and safety
- Maintain NATA accreditation and uphold high standards across all lab testing protocols
- Propose and develop new geotechnical service lines to expand the business
- Manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects end-to-end
- Contribute to business development and client relationship management
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Demonstrated ability to sign off on reports and lead technical delivery
- Competent in field work, soil, and core logging
- NER and RPEQ accreditation (required)
- CPEng accreditation highly regarded
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (or related)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report writing skills
- A track record of high-quality delivery on large-scale projects
