Assistant Tenant Participation Officer
Full-time ongoing role, with a talent pool to be established for future opportunities
Clerk Grade 5/6 - $99,938 - $110,271 plus superannuation and leave loading
Your role
Supporting tenant engagement, community development, and the resolution of complex tenancy matters, this role will be offered across several key districts in Sydney.
You will be part of a team responsible for managing escalated matters, including NCAT and ministerial complaints, working directly with tenants and stakeholders to investigate issues, respond to complaints, and achieve practical, sustainable outcomes to building maintenance resolutions.
What you’ll do
Working in a dynamic team, you’ll deliver tenant engagement initiatives while managing escalated matters requiring investigation and resolution.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering community-based projects to increase resident participation and capacity
Managing escalated matters (e.g. NCAT and ministerial complaints) through investigation and resolution
Conducting site visits and inspections, working with tenants and contractors to find solutions
Responding to complaints and ensuring compliance with legislation and policy
Building partnerships to improve service access and tenancy outcomes
Supporting tenant engagement strategies and community consultations
Developing and maintaining tenant feedback and consultation mechanisms
What we’re looking for
To be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will have:
Relevant qualifications and/or 2–3 years’ experience in community services, tenant participation, compliance, or inspections
Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
Experience investigating issues and managing complaints within compliance frameworks
Ability to work autonomously in the field and conduct site inspections
Strong coordination skills with contractors, tenants, and stakeholders
Current driver licence and willingness to travel for site visits
Excellent communication skills and ability to manage competing priorities
Experience working with diverse communities
Empathetic, resilient, and solutions-focused approach
