About the Role
We're on the hunt for a Group Boxing Coach to run our beginner-friendly boxing classes for everyday gym members — not elite athletes, not competition fighters, just people who want to learn to box properly, get a great workout, and have fun doing it.
This isn't a boxercise gig. We want someone who actually knows the sport — real technique, real pad work, real fundamentals — but who can break it down for a room full of people who've never thrown a punch in their life. If you love coaching beginners as much as you love the sport itself, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Be Doing
- Running group boxing classes for general population members of all fitness levels and experience
- Teaching proper technique, footwork and fundamentals in a way that's accessible, safe and genuinely fun for beginners
- Creating a welcoming, no-ego environment where new members feel comfortable from day one
- Building relationships with members and keeping classes engaging week to week
- Working within a consistent, locked-in weekly schedule once your timetable is set
What We're Looking For
- Solid experience in boxing, Muay Thai or another combat sport — you know your craft, not just a boxercise format
- A genuine passion for coaching beginners and helping people — patient, encouraging and personable
- Friendly, easygoing energy — someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously and makes classes fun
- A true team player who's happy to muck in and be part of the gym community, not just show up and coach
- Strong communication skills and the ability to read a room of mixed abilities
- Reliability and consistency — we're looking for someone who wants a regular, ongoing spot on our timetable
- Certificate III and IV in Fitness is highly regarded (not essential, but a big plus)
Why Coach With Us
- Choice of early morning (before-work) or evening (after-work) class times
- A consistent weekly schedule once your classes are locked in — no constant reshuffling
- Real room to grow as our gym grows — think more boxing classes, more sessions across the week, and a bigger slice of the timetable for the right person
- For coaches with a Cert III/IV, the potential to pick up additional group strength and fitness classes as well for covers as well as consistent schedule.
- A supportive, close-knit team and a gym culture that puts members first
