About the Role
As a Retail Sales Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping customers bring their vision to life. You'll provide expert advice, build strong customer relationships, and deliver an exceptional showroom experience while contributing to the store's sales success.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver Exceptional Customer Service
- Welcome customers and create a positive in-store experience
- Understand customer needs and recommend tailored solutions
- Provide expert guidance across rugs, carpets, flooring, window furnishings, and homewares
Drive Sales Results
- Achieve and exceed individual and store sales targets
- Upsell complementary products and complete-room solutions
- Follow up on customer enquiries and sales opportunities
Product Expertise
- Develop strong knowledge of DecoRug's products and services
- Confidently explain features, benefits, and styling options
- Stay informed about industry trends and interior design inspiration
Maintain an Inspiring Showroom
- Ensure displays are visually appealing and well-presented
- Support visual merchandising initiatives
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming environment
Customer Relationship Management
- Process orders accurately and efficiently
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction
- Build long-term relationships that generate repeat business and referrals
About You
You'll be successful in this role if you have:
- Previous retail sales experience, ideally in flooring, rugs, furniture, homewares, window furnishings, or a related industry
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A passion for home styling, interior design, and helping customers create beautiful spaces
- A positive, proactive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Confidence working towards sales targets and KPIs
- Good computer skills and experience using POS or sales systems
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
