About Your Role
Reporting to the Research Coordinator, the Client Book Club Facilitator is responsible for developing and facilitating a book club for people with intellectual disability.
This unique role is part of a research project aimed at improved the social networks of people with disability.
Your Key Focus
- Coordinate the promotion and recruitment process for newly established book club
- Facilitate the book club and support clients in participation
- Manage the operational aspects of the book club, including coordination, scheduling, communication and resources required
- Regularly liaise with and report to the Head of Research to understand and deliver the activities as required
- Communicate proactively with clients, staff and community members
What We Look For
- Previous experience working with people with disability
- Experience with group program facilitation
- Skilled in creating environments and opportunities that support the development of peer relationships and friendships
- Well developed organisation, planning and time management
- Experience using virtual collaboration platforms such as Zoom and MS Teams
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
