NOT YOUR TYPICAL INSTRUCTOR ROLE
We're not looking for someone who just knows the steps. We're looking for someone who genuinely transforms the people they teach, who understands that dance is a vehicle for confidence, connection, and identity change.
If you believe the best sessions are deeply personal, not just technically correct, read on.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Deliver private one-on-one lessons and group classes across our dance styles.
- Guide students through their learning journey, from their first lesson through to ongoing progression.
- Build genuine relationships with students and support their growth beyond the technical.
- Deliver our wedding dance packages to couples from intro lesson through to first dance.
- Capture content during classes and ensure students leave with their lesson notes and next booking confirmed.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- You have proven experience teaching dance. This is non-negotiable.
- You light people up. Students leave your sessions feeling more capable and more confident than when they walked in.
- You're coachable and committed to growing as a teacher, not just maintaining what you know.
- You take ownership. If a student is struggling, you find a way. You don't blame the student.
- You hold yourself to a high standard every single session, not just when someone's watching.
- You're genuinely invested in people, not just dance.
WHAT WE'RE NOT LOOKING FOR
- Someone who teaches steps but doesn't connect with the person in front of them.
- Someone who shows up, delivers a session, and clocks off. No follow-through, no care for the student's journey.
- Someone who needs to be the best dancer in the room. Our students need you present, not performing.
- Someone resistant to feedback or who thinks their way is the only way.
- Someone who sees this as a filler job between other things.
OUR CULTURE
Dance It Forward Studios exists to move people, physically and personally. We're based in Miranda and we've built something different on purpose: a studio where every student feels seen, challenged, and supported. Our instructors are the reason people stay. Syllabus training is provided. We'll teach you our method. What we can't teach is the kind of person you are.
Pay: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
- In your application, tell us in no more than 200 words: why dance changes people, not just their dancing.
No response to this question, no consideration. We mean it.
