Opportunity
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the team for maintenance works
- Position is FIFO from Perth
- Full Time
- 8:6 roster
- Pay rate: $140,000 to $160,000 per annum, DOE
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for mining and mineral processing operations.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance strategies for fixed and mobile equipment.
- Monitor equipment performance and analyse reliability data to improve asset availability and reduce downtime.
- Investigate equipment failures using root cause analysis (RCA) and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Support the maintenance of crushers, screens, conveyors, stackers, reclaimers, pumps, gearboxes, compressors, fans, slurry pipelines, and other processing equipment.
- Coordinate major shutdowns, equipment overhauls, and plant improvement projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical specifications, scopes of work, and procurement documentation.
- Review equipment designs and recommend modifications to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and operating efficiency.
- Manage engineering contractors, vendors, and service providers during maintenance and capital projects.
- Ensure compliance with mining regulations, safety standards, and company engineering procedures.
- Participate in risk assessments, hazard identification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in fixed plant mining maintenance
- Fluent English speaking, reading and writing
- Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin) is advantageous
- A demonstrated commitment to safety
- Passionate in growing with the company,
- Self motivated to drive for the outcome,
- Reliable, enthusiastic, ability to inspire others and strong team player
- Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Proficient with MS Office suite
- Current Class C Australian Driver’s Licence
- Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry (2 years from issued date)
- White Card
- Must pass Pre-employment Medical, DAS and Respirator Fit Test
- Must reside in Western Australia and have valid working rights (point of hire is Perth)
