About the Role
As Media and Communications Coordinator, you will need to develop and deliver strategic communication campaigns and resources that engage internal and external audiences while supporting organisational objectives and enhancing brand reputation. Working under the direction of the Senior District Manager Communications and Engagement, you will provide expert media relations support, manage media enquiries and emerging issues, and contribute to proactive stakeholder engagement strategies.
The role involves creating high quality communication materials including media releases, articles, newsletters, reports, and publications, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards and government branding guidelines. You will need to collaborate with senior leaders, government agencies, media outlets and key stakeholders to promote organisational achievements, support major events and initiatives, and maintain a consistent, timely and professional approach to communications whilst also contributing to crisis and after-hours media response activities, while fostering a culture of quality improvement, innovation and patient-centred outcomes.
This is a Full Time Permanent role based within the Mid North Coast Local Health District, with offices in Coffs Harbour & Port Macquarie.
About You
You are a communications professional with experience developing and delivering strategic communication campaigns, media engagement initiatives and stakeholder communication strategies that support organisational objectives and strengthen brand reputation. Skilled in media relations, issues management and content creation, you can produce high-quality communication materials including media releases, articles, newsletters, reports, and publications for diverse audiences.
You have a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, government agencies, media representatives and key stakeholders, providing trusted advice and support on communications, reputation management, and emerging issues. Your expertise includes managing media enquiries, developing proactive communication strategies, ensuring compliance with branding and accessibility standards, and promoting organisational achievements through engaging and impactful storytelling.
