About the role
We are seeking a full-time Construction Estimator to join our estimating team in Sydney. The role is responsible for preparing quantity take-offs, cost estimate inputs, tender quantity schedules and supporting documentation for formwork and reinforced concrete works across commercial, civil, education, healthcare, residential and infrastructure projects. The position forms part of the company’s estimating function and contributes to tender preparation from documentation review through to tender submission.
Key responsibilities
· Review architectural, structural and engineering drawings, specifications and tender documents to determine the scope of formwork and reinforced concrete works.
· Prepare quantity take-offs and measurements for concrete and formwork components across slabs, beams, columns, walls, slab edges, soffits and vertical faces.
· Prepare quantity schedules, estimate summaries and cost information to support tender pricing and submission.
· Review drawing revisions, addenda and updated tender documentation, and incorporate changes into revised quantity take-offs and estimate summaries.
· Identify discrepancies or omissions in project documentation and assist with tender queries and clarifications.
· Maintain accurate estimating records and supporting documentation.
· Use PlanSwift, Microsoft Excel and related estimating software to support accurate and timely tender preparation.
· Liaise with senior estimators, project managers and internal stakeholders to confirm scope, methodology, inclusions and exclusions for tender submissions.
Salary
$90,000.00 - $95,000.00 + Superannuation
Requirements
· Relevant qualification in construction, engineering technology, building or a related field.
· At least 1 year of relevant experience in quantity take-offs, estimating support or tender preparation within the construction industry.
· Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications and tender documents.
· Proficiency in PlanSwift, Microsoft Excel or similar digital take-off / estimating software.
· Knowledge of reinforced concrete and formwork systems is highly desirable.
· Strong analytical, numerical and organizational skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively within an estimating team and meet tender deadline
Pay: $90,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
