Over the years Woodlands has grown to become one of the largest employers in the Beerwah area with a current workforce of approximately 190 employees.
As the major employer in the area, Woodlands’ staff are loyal with one employee recently retiring after 56 years of employment and a large number of staff celebrating over 15 years service with us.
Due to the size and complexity of the business, Woodlands employs a range of staff to work across various aspects of the business from working on poultry farm to shedding and equipment and transport the produce and equipment.
For Bio-Security purposes, our staff are unable to own, care or keep any avian species at home (i.e. birds, chickens, ducks etc) whilst employed at Woodlands.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Transport and Field Services Manager, you will work closely with other Woodlands staff to ensure egg and chicken waste are transported safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Material is loaded either via truck-mounted crane or dispatched directly into the truck. The role involves no manual handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport egg and chicken waste between Woodlands sites
- Operate a HR body tipper truck safely and efficiently
- Undertake additional truck-related duties (float, tilt tray, water or tipper truck)
- Ensure correct loading via truck-mounted crane or direct dispatch
- Complete deliveries between Beerwah, Beerburrum and Conondale
- Thoroughly wash and clean the truck at the end of each shift
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and documentation in line with NHVAS requirements
- Identify and report any vehicle or equipment issues
- Perform related duties within the scope of the role
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- HR Driver’s Licence
- Previous experience operating a HR body tipper truck
- Experience in general transport or waste-removal roles
- Ability to meet early start times (6.00am starts)
- Experience with float, tilt tray, water truck or other heavy vehicles
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Ability to follow procedures and safety requirements
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to complete NHVAS documentation and the use of Apps
