About the Role
Join Ahrens and become part of a hardworking team delivering quality trade and maintenance services across mining and industrial sites in the Port Hedland region. This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll be working across a range of projects, from maintenance and repairs through to building works, helping to keep critical site infrastructure operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality carpentry, maintenance, and building works across mining and industrial sites in the Port Hedland region.
- Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to accurately determine materials, dimensions, and installation requirements.
- Complete layout preparation, material cutting, assembly, and installation activities.
- Carry out first and second fix carpentry works.
- Construct and install frameworks, roof framing, cladding, fascias, doors, windows, and other building components.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on existing buildings, structures, and fittings.
- Ensure all work complies with Australian Standards, relevant building codes, and WHS requirements.
- Operate vehicles, plant, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maximise the effective use of materials, labour, and equipment to meet project deadlines.
- Complete all work professionally, safely, and on time.
- Maintain a full toolkit required to perform duties effectively.
- Represent Ahrens professionally while on site, in company vehicles, and when interacting with clients.
- Complete required administrative tasks accurately and within required timeframes
Skills and Experience
- Trade qualification in Carpentry (Certificate III or higher) or equivalent industry experience.
- Proven experience in maintenance and construction across residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience completing a broad range of carpentry and maintenance works independently.
- Current White Card (Construction Induction).
- Current WA Class C Driver's Licence.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Strong safety focus and understanding of WHS requirements.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Physically fit and capable of working in demanding Pilbara conditions.

Highly Regarded
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a mining or resources environment.
- Previous experience working on remote mine sites.
- Glazing experience across residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Additional trade tickets, licences, or machinery operating experience.
- Flexibility to work across other Ahrens Group locations when required.
