The Executive Assistant (EA) undertakes work that is complex in nature and operates under limited direction with reasonable autonomy and accountability. In addition to supporting the Deputy Secretary, the role works in conjunction with the Executive Adviser and extends its support to the broader Integrity and Security Group (ISG) in delivering on its priorities and outcomes. It also engages with range of senior internal and external stakeholders, including the Secretary's Office.

How you can help us make a difference
As an experienced EA, this position will ask you to:

Manage the Deputy Secretary's diary with autonomy and limited direction, exercising initiative, judgement and forward planning

Oversee incoming and outgoing correspondence for the office, anticipating, responding to and resolving complex requests and directing requests to other work areas as appropriate, which will require a degree of understanding of the operational environment

Engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to follow up requests for briefing or other information

Draft basic written correspondence on behalf of the Deputy Secretary, in collaboration with the Executive Adviser and other areas of the department as required

Coordinate and collate information and documents to support the Deputy Secretary's attendance at meetings and Senate Estimates, ensuring quality and relevance

Organise meetings, travel, events and other duties as required

Contribute to planning activities, facilitate business improvements and efficient office processes

Support and provide guidance to the team of Executive Assistants within ISG.
