Disability Support Worker required that has experience working with people that live with a psychosocial disability. Example; schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, severe depression, anxiety disorders (like OCD or PTSD), and personality disorders.
Experience and Qualifications
· Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card): A national check that assesses your suitability to work with people with disability.
· Working with Children Check (WWCC): Required if your duties involve supporting anyone under the age of 18.
· Right to Work in Australia: You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa with valid working rights.
· Worker Orientation Module: A free online training program taking about 90 minutes. Workers must finish this to understand their obligations under the NDIS Code of Conduct.
· Infection Control: A free online training program taking about 90 minutes. Workers must finish this to understand their obligations under the NDIS Code of Conduct.
· First Aid & CPR: An current accredited First Aid and CPR certificate
· Medication assist. (eTrainu have these short courses at $49.50)
· Certificates: Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or Aged Care, are highly preferred. (Applicants currently undertaking study will also be considered).
· A current Australian driver’s license, comprehensive car insurance, and a registered vehicle.
Skills:
· Ability to write objective recovery based progress notes.
· Lived experience in supporting people who live with a psychosocial disability, co-existing mental health conditions and addictions.
