Ravenshoe Highland Bakery is a locally owned Australian retail/wholesale Bakery servicing Far North Queensland, we are Located on the Atherton Tablelands West of Cairns.

Ravenshoe ('Ravens-hoe') is a small town a 2 hour drive south-west of Cairns on the Atherton Tablelands.
Ravenshoe lies between rainforest and savannah, it is the highest town in Queensland at 920 meters altitude, a lush region of mountain pastures and un-spoiled World Heritage rainforest. The temperature is typically mild, rarely exceeding 28°C.
Ravenshoe has golf course, bowls club, Pony Club, Motor cross facility, community center, medical clinics, a State primary school, a Catholic primary school and a State secondary campus. There are plenty of freshwater swimming spots that run all year i.e. the Little Millstream Falls, the Big Millstream Falls (Australia's widest falls in full flow), Koombooloomba dam (Fishing, Boating etc) and the Innot hot springs.
The Role:
Currently we produce several types of breads, Pies, Cakes, Slices, etc. for sale through our Cafe and to our remote customers. We require an additional Baker to be part of our experienced baking team. The Ravenshoe Highland Bakery is a 24 hour, 6 day a week operation. The shift will typically be a 7pm start and encompass all disciplines of the baking trade. Work will include but not be limited to bread production, general pastry items, cakes and packing of goods.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Check the cleanliness of equipment and the workstation before work to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
- Weighing and measuring ingredients for the preparation of baked goods and checking the quality of raw materials.
- Kneading, maturing, cutting, moulding, mixing and shaping dough manually and using industrial machineries at our bakery.
- Preparing pastry
· Monitoring oven temperature, products and baking times.
· Loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bakery products.
- Glazing baked products and decorating relevant items according to the requirements.
- Complying with food hygiene and safety requirements at Ravenshoe Highland Bakery.
- Keeping work areas clean, tidy and follow the safety guidelines.
- Maintain stock records and assisting with stock controlling.
- Follow the instructions given by the management team.
· Participate in weekly/daily production meetings and provide the reports to management team.
· Slice and pack baked goods
Relevant Qualifications:
· Certificate III in Baking or equivalent of 3 years of work experiences to substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
Relevant Experience:
· At least three years of relevant experience as a Baker in similar capacity.
Relevant Skills:
- Must be able to work with bread doughs of all types.
- Honest with a good work ethic.
· Excellent communication skills.
- The ability to work efficiently both as part of a team and independently.
- The ability to work unsupervised and supervise/train others.
- Good time management skills, meeting daily production targets and needs.
- Proven experience with the use of commercial equipment i.e Mixers, Divider, Moulder, Prover, Rounder, Sheeter, Deck and Rotary ovens etc.
- Be hardworking and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Have meticulous attention to detail, cleanliness and accuracy.
· Experience in similar role.
Pay: $79,423.00 per year
