Job Description:
SLB is currently looking for Equipment Operators experienced in Wireline, Testing and Coiled Tubing services within Reservoir Performance division. The Equipment Operators perform such duties as required in the servicing of oil and gas wells and operation and maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of field equipment and tools utilized in different business lines. Successful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Operation:
- Operate field equipment and machinery used in well testing, stimulation (such as acidizing or hydraulic fracturing), coiled tubing, wireline interventions, or related services.
- Ensure proper function and calibration of specialized tools and sensors.
2. Site Preparation and Mobilization:
- Assist in the setup, mobilization, and demobilization of equipment and materials to and from the wellsite.
- Perform safety checks and compliance inspections before commencing operations.
3. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols (such as PPE use, hazard identification, and tool box talks) and ensure equipment compliance with regulations and company standards.
- Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and risk assessments.
4. Routine Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct routine equipment and vehicle maintenance, troubleshooting basic mechanical or technical issues as they arise.
- Record and report malfunctions or irregularities promptly.
5. Execution of Field Tasks:
- Execute field tasks according to operation plans: running tools in-hole, monitoring pressures and flows, and communicating results to the supervisor.
- Collect and record operational data for field reports.
6. Teamwork and Communication:
- Work under the supervision of a field engineer, supervisor, or operations manager, and coordinate with other crew members in multi-service operations.
- Communicate proactively about equipment status, job progress, and safety incidents.
7. Documentation and Reporting:
- Complete shift reports, equipment logbooks, and maintenance records as required.
- Support post-job reporting and lesson learned discussions.
8. Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in on-the-job training to improve technical competency and support operational best practices.
- Contribute suggestions for operational improvements and lessons learned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Reside in Australia and have the full right to live and work in Australia including offshore
- No travel restrictions and open to relocation in Australia
- High School education or equivalent desirable
- Evaluation of at least "Satisfactory" on the SLB Operator section of TOPS
- 5 years as Operator and total of at least 10 years industry related experience desirable
- Able to operate and handle Explosives, Radiation and Pressure
- Able to service Wellhead equipment, testing equipment, piping and iron
- Experience in accurately meeting predetermined specifications
- Understand basic use of Volt/ Amp meter
- Have a valid open class unrestricted HR/HC/MC driver’s licence is desirable
- Good English written & verbal communication
