About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and collaborative Business Administrator to join the Finance Systems & Business Intelligence team within the NSW Department of Education.
In this role, you'll be the central point of oversight for the department's finance school eFPT system, ensuring it is effectively governed, maintained and continuously improved to support schools in managing their finances. You'll work closely with Finance teams, Digital Finance and key stakeholders to coordinate system enhancements, manage governance processes, provide expert advice, and support the successful delivery of system updates and business improvements.

You are passionate about improving educational and wellbeing outcomes for all learners in NSW Public Education. You are a proactive, organised professional with experience administering business systems. You prioritise effective financial management practices and end user experience. You enjoy developing and building relationships, analysing business needs, problem-solving and identifying opportunities for systems improvement.
You will also bring:
- Demonstrated experience administering or supporting enterprise business systems or digital platforms.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to provide clear advice and build productive working relationships.
- Experience coordinating system updates, governance activities or continuous improvement initiatives.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering practical solutions.
- A customer-focused approach and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
Key knowledge and experience
- Qualifications in a relevant discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
- Demonstrated experience in financial business system administration.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
