About the Role
We're looking for a motivated and organised destination marketing professional to join our Economic Development and Place team as our Senior Destination Marketing and Events Officer.
Reporting to the Manager Economic Development and Place, you'll lead the delivery of the City's destination marketing and events program and work with a dedicated Destination Marketing and Events Officer to deliver campaigns, events and initiatives that support the See Subiaco brand.
This is a varied role where no two weeks are quite the same. You could be developing a destination marketing campaign, working with local businesses, coordinating a major event, managing digital content, preparing reports or exploring opportunities to enhance how we promote Subiaco.
The role offers genuine opportunity to contribute ideas, improve existing programs and help evolve the City's destination marketing and events portfolio while working within Council priorities, governance frameworks and legislative requirements.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about marketing and events, have superior communication and organisational skills and enjoy building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
We're looking for someone who brings initiative, enthusiasm and a willingness to contribute.
You may already have experience in destination marketing, tourism, communications, events or activation, or you may be looking for the opportunity to step into a broader role with greater responsibility.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the ongoing development and delivery of the City's See Subiaco destination marketing program.
- Deliver destination marketing campaigns that encourage visitation and strengthen Subiaco's profile as a leading destination.
- Coordinate the delivery of destination events, activations and partnerships that support economic development objectives.
- Build strong relationships with local businesses and stakeholders.
- Oversee digital marketing channels including website content, social media and destination communications.
- Supervise and support the Destination Marketing and Events Officer.
- Identify opportunities to improve programs, processes and customer experience through practical and considered innovation.
- Monitor campaign and event performance and use insights to continually improve future initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience delivering marketing campaigns, events o destination initiatives.
- Supervisory ability that includes people and budget management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience building productive relationships with business and stakeholders.
- Experience preparing reports, presentations and marketing material.
- Experience in development of business and government communication tools including report writing and document development.
- Confidence supervising projects and people.
- Superior interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Ability to use corporate computer systems, content management systems and graphic design programs (preferred).
Salary Package
In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 7. The salary range is $114,959.52 to $123,193.98 per annum, exclusive of superannuation.
