As the Licensing Officer you will work with limited/close supervision as part of the Electrical Licensing Unit in the Electrical Safety Office (ESO) to administer licences for over 68,000 electrical workers and 14,000 electrical contractors in Queensland.
The Licensing team works with contractors, workers and their representatives, other state and territory licensing regulators and the independent Electrical Licensing Committee to build a competent, safe and compliant industry.
As a Licensing Officer you will be responsible for processing electrical licence applications and providing advice to licence holders and applicants regarding licensing related matters. You will also assist with general administration work as required. The role reports to the Senior Licensing Officer, Electrical Licensing.

Key responsibilities
Assess and process electrical licence applications according to legislative and policy requirements including, but not limited to:
Review and process restricted permit and licence applications requiring review of relevant qualifications.
Review and process Offshore Trade Skills Recognition (OTSR) permit and licence applications.
Assist with the maintenance and improvement of the unit's business systems and administrative processes.
Assist with the coordination of correspondence and records management.
Respond to electrical licensing related enquiries from internal and external clients through written and oral advice.
Assist with the development and delivery of training to staff.
Undertake delegated human resource, financial and administrative functions as required.
Provide mentoring and guidance, including onboarding to new and existing staff members as required.
