As a Fire Tower Sentry, you'll monitor live-fire training activities, identify emerging risks and coordinate rapid response activities from the range control tower. This unique casual opportunity is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, excellent situational awareness and a commitment to safety.
The Role
As a Fire Tower Sentry, you'll be responsible for monitoring live-fire training activities and helping ensure safe operations across the training area.
Key responsibilities include:

Monitoring live-fire range activities and ensuring safety requirements are adhered to
-
Identifying and escalating potential hazards or breaches immediately
-
Coordinating with firefighting crews via radio communications
-
Monitoring for smoke, fire outbreaks and other operational risks
-
Providing accurate location and navigation information to response teams
-
Assisting with HSE inspections, safety observations and job analysis activities
-
Supporting the Land Management team with operational duties as required
-
Working closely with Defence personnel and internal stakeholders
About You
You have strong observation skills, remain calm under pressure and are confident communicating with operational teams in fast-paced environments.

Essential Requirements

Current Manual Driver's Licence

Experience using handheld and vehicle-mounted radio communication systems

Strong map reading and navigation skills

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across multiple stakeholders

Highly Regarded

First Aid certification

Previous experience in emergency services, firefighting, Defence, land management or similar operational environments
