The opportunity
We are currently looking for an experienced Resource Development Field Assistant to join the team at our Duketon operation.
The successful candidate will assist with all aspects of resource development and exploration activities, including drill site preparation, sample collection and submission, and core processing. The role will add value through the effective execution of exploration programs, contributing to the discovery and growth of new resources and reserves.
This is a FIFO role (8:6 roster) from Perth.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Ensure drill site preparation is appropriate for the planned drilling activity and complies with safety and operational requirements
Use GPS and compass to accurately set out drill hole collars and align drill rigs to design specifications
Apply appropriate sampling techniques in accordance with Regis Resources Limited (RRL) QA/QC standards across all sample media, including drill chips, and diamond core
Process diamond core through orientation, mark-up, cutting, and sampling in line with company procedures
Complete accurate field data entry in LogChief
Ensure all samples dispatched from site are accurately
Maintain communication equipment (UHF radios, SPOT, inReach, and satellite phones) to ensure constant operational readiness
Regularly inspect work areas and equipment to identify hazards, malfunctions, or damage and take corrective action as required
Skills and Experiences:
About you
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Possesses a solid work ethic and strong desire to do things safely and efficiently
- Previous experience in working with all aspects of mineral exploration including drilling and earthmoving contractors
- Familiarity with data entry and Excel spreadsheets
- Current WA class C manual drivers licence
- Current Senior/Perform First Aid Certificate – preferred
