Create Connections. Celebrate Cultures. Make Every Day Meaningful.
For more than 40 years, FOCUS Connect has been connecting communities and helping people build meaningful lives through connection, inclusion and belonging.
We’re passionate about creating opportunities for older people to stay connected, celebrate their culture, make new friends and continue doing the things that matter most to them. Every Social Group we deliver is designed to create genuine friendships, strengthen wellbeing and help people live life their way.
We’re looking for an energetic, organised and people-focused Lifestyle & Social Groups Facilitator to help deliver our flagship Social Groups.
If you’re someone who loves bringing people together, enjoys working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, and wants to make a genuine difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, community-based role where you’ll spend your time with people, not behind a desk.
You’ll deliver welcoming and engaging Social Groups that create friendships, celebrate cultural diversity and help older people stay active, connected and involved in their communities. Working closely with the Aged Care Manager, you’ll also contribute ideas to continually improve our programs, ensuring every experience is meaningful, inclusive and centred on what matters most to participants.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Create meaningful Social Groups that help older people stay connected, active and engaged.
- Foster welcoming environments where people from diverse cultures and backgrounds feel respected, included and that they belong.
- Deliver engaging activities, outings and community experiences that reflect participants’ interests, cultures and goals.
- Build relationships that encourage friendships, confidence, participation and thriving Social Groups.
- Contribute ideas and participant feedback to continually improve participant experiences.
- Work collaboratively with Support Workers, volunteers and the broader Aged Care team to deliver exceptional Social Groups.
- Deliver safe, high-quality programs while maintaining accurate attendance and participant records.
About You
You’re someone who genuinely enjoys bringing people together.
You have a positive outlook, plenty of energy and a natural ability to make people feel welcome. You’re organised, adaptable and confident facilitating groups, and you love creating experiences that people remember.
You value diversity and understand that every person’s culture, language, traditions and life experiences are unique. Whether you’re bilingual, multilingual or simply passionate about celebrating different cultures and creating environments where everyone feels they belong, you’ll feel at home at FOCUS Connect.
Above all, you’re passionate about helping older people stay connected, build friendships and focus on what matters most to them.
To be successful, you’ll bring:
- Experience delivering lifestyle, recreation, community, wellbeing or social programs within aged care, community services, disability or a similar environment.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
- Creativity, initiative and a collaborative approach.
- Qualifications in, or studying towards, Leisure & Health, Community Services, Recreation or a related discipline (desirable).
- Current Driver Licence (essential).
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
- National Criminal History Check.
We warmly encourage applications from people who are bilingual or multilingual. We also welcome applicants who are passionate about celebrating different cultures and creating welcoming, inclusive environments where everyone feels respected and that they belong.
Why Join FOCUS Connect?
At FOCUS Connect, you’ll join a team that’s passionate about helping people live life their way.

- A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference every day.
- A supportive and collaborative team that values your ideas and encourages innovation.
- The opportunity to help shape and grow our flagship Social Groups.
- A varied community-based role where no two days are the same.
- Ongoing learning, development and career opportunities within a growing organisation.
