Your future role:
Alstom is seeking an HR Business Partner based in either the Melbourne, VIC or North Sydney, NSW office for the Services Product Line. You will operate as a trusted partner and coach to people managers across Australia and New Zealand, delivering proactive HR support and guidance. Reporting to the HR Director, ANZ, you will develop and execute tailored People Plans for your assigned stakeholder groups, aligning them with the strategic objectives of the business unit. Key responsibilities include adapting and implementing HR policies and strategies in close collaboration with Centres of Excellence to attract, develop, and retain talent that meets evolving business needs. You will also lead a team of HR professionals, ensuring high-quality delivery of outcomes in line with the broader people plan.
Your role:
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder partnerships while leveraging commercial insight to develop and implement a people strategy that supports business growth and success.
- Identify key organisational needs and convert them into practical, deliverable HR initiatives.
- Roll out group, corporate, and business-unit HR strategies across regional and global operations.
- Drive the HR data and insights function, maintaining accurate HRIS records and creating impactful metrics and dashboards that provide executives with real-time oversight of workforce trends, risks, and potential.
- Guide a team of HR specialists, promote ongoing development and knowledge sharing, and oversee the performance management cycle.
- Create and champion an integrated people strategy tied to business priorities, covering talent attraction, workforce planning, succession, and engagement.
About you:
- Tertiary qualified in Human Resources, Business, or a similar field.
- Track record of influencing effectively and staying resilient within intricate global matrix structures.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building abilities, especially when engaging senior executives.
- Experienced in leading people in matrixed settings, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, and capability building.
- Strategic mindset combined with solid commercial understanding and wide-ranging generalist HR expertise in areas such as culture, change, workforce planning, succession, and retention.
- Skilled at crafting and executing HR programs that advance diversity, leadership growth, and sustained high performance.
- Substantial Industrial/Employee Relations background gained in an engineering, maintenance, industrial or similar industries with a mix of white-collar and trade employees.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with senior leadership to link HR efforts to organisational objectives while managing diverse, multi-region stakeholder dynamics.
