Achieve Something Great
Join South Western Sydney Local Health District as an Aboriginal Mental Health Worker and play a vital role in supporting Aboriginal people, families and communities on their mental health and wellbeing journey. Working across Bowral, Tahmoor and Campbelltown, you will provide culturally safe, recovery-oriented mental health support and advocacy while helping to strengthen connections between consumers, families, community services and specialist mental health care.
As a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, you will bring an Aboriginal cultural perspective to assessment, care planning and service delivery. You will also contribute to mental health promotion, community engagement and the ongoing development of culturally appropriate and responsive mental health services across the region. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while being supported to further develop your professional skills and qualifications in mental health.
Are You the Right Fit?
We are seeking a passionate and community-connected Aboriginal professional who is committed to improving mental health outcomes for Aboriginal people and families. You will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture, community strengths and the factors that influence social and emotional wellbeing, along with the ability to build trust and maintain effective relationships with consumers, families, community organisations and health professionals.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, advocate for culturally safe and person-centred care, and be confident balancing competing priorities in a dynamic service setting.
