The Opportunity
Veolia Water is seeking an experienced Management of Change (MOC) Project Engineer to join our Gold Coast Desalination Plant in Tugun. Within this role you'll ensure all operational, configurational, and organisational changes are properly managed, documented, and implemented safely—while supporting capital project delivery to optimise plant performance.
You'll take ownership of capital and operational projects from conception through delivery, managing budgets, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring every project meets our exacting standards. What you’ll be responsible for
Deliver the change process - Identify different types of engineering change, engage subject matter experts, assess risks, drive actions and controls, and bring each change to a comprehensive and timely conclusion
Lead project delivery – Develop business cases, detailed scopes, and schedules for capital projects aligned with our Asset Management Plan
Manage change documentation – Maintain MOC status tracking, update O&M procedures, technical drawings, and manuals; ensure stakeholders are informed and change-related training is provided
Oversee contractors – Manage subcontractors and consultants, including site supervision and technical oversight
Control budgets – Manage project finances, approve invoices, and track progress claims
Ensure quality & safety – Coordinate design reviews, risk assessments, and HAZOPs while maintaining our strict OH&S and environmental standards
Support operations – Coordinate shutdown work and site visits to keep production on track
To succeed in this role, you will need:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline
Understanding of operating plant environments and management systems
Experience with Management of Change procedures in operating plant environments
