Aboriginal Health Practitioner(Clinical)
Full-time, 38 hours a week
T his is an Aboriginal Designated Position, classified under 'special measures' of Section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.
About the Role
The primary responsibility of the Aboriginal Health Practitioner is to provide culturally safe clinical care and health promotion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The role supports healthy growth, development, wellbeing, and access to services through clinical practice, care coordination, health education, advocacy, and community connection.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Hold a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice.
- Be registered with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practice Board of Australia.
- Maintain registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Aboriginal Health Practitioner.
- Demonstrate ongoing commitment to professional development through the completion of annual Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
- Have relevant experience in a similar role, including working effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Possess sound knowledge of primary health care principles, with the ability to conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement appropriate health care strategies.
- Demonstrate highly developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exhibit strong computer literacy and proficiency in using digital systems and applications relevant to the role.
