Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a qualified and motivated Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis.
About the Role
As a Carpenter, you will undertake a wide range of carpentry duties across new builds, renovations and extensions. You will be involved in all stages of construction, from structural framing through to finishing carpentry, ensuring every project is completed to a high standard of quality, safety and workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications and project plans to determine job requirements and installation methods.
- Carry out carpentry work throughout all phases of construction, including framing, lock-up and final fix.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber and other construction materials using hand and power tools.
- Construct and install timber wall frames, roof frames, flooring systems and structural components, including both stick-built and prefabricated framing.
- Assist with site preparation, including demolition works and setting out building layouts before construction commences.
- Install internal and external timber cladding, feature wall linings and decorative timber finishes.
- Prepare structural openings and accurately install custom-made windows, doors and associated frames.
- Complete finishing carpentry work, including skirting boards, architraves, doors, door hardware, cabinetry components and timber flooring.
- Construct outdoor timber structures such as decks, pergolas, retaining walls, fencing and other landscape features.
- Perform renovation, maintenance and repair work on existing residential and commercial buildings.
- Liaise effectively with supervisors, subcontractors and other trades to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised worksite while complying with workplace health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent recognised trade qualification.
- A minimum of one (1) year of full-time relevant work experience as a Carpenter.
- Demonstrated experience in residential and/or commercial construction projects.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans and building specifications.
- Sound knowledge of carpentry techniques, construction methods and Australian building standards.
- Competent in the safe operation of carpentry hand tools, power tools and construction equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- White Card (Construction Induction Card) is required.
- Current driver's licence is desirable.
