Small Engine Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Small Engine Mechanic to join our service team. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and servicing of small engines and associated mechanical equipment used in manufacturing operations and field service activities. The role ensures optimal equipment performance, safety compliance, and high-quality after-sales service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
· Diagnose faults in small engines and mechanical equipment using appropriate testing and diagnostic tools
· Repair and service petrol and diesel-powered engines, including pumps, generators, and associated equipment
· Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing to ensure equipment reliability and safety
· Dismantle, repair, and reassemble engine components such as carburettors, ignition systems, and fuel systems
· Replace worn or defective parts and ensure all repairs meet manufacturer specifications
· Test and adjust engines following repair to ensure optimal performance
· Maintain accurate records of maintenance, servicing, and repairs
· Ensure all work complies with workplace health and safety requirements
· Assist with installation, commissioning, and after-sales service support as required
Key requirements:
· Relevant qualification in small engine mechanics or a related field
· Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar role
· Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
· Great attention to detail
· Good communication and teamwork skills
· Commitment to workplace health and safety
