The Opportunity:
CSR are looking for a detail-driven and hands-on Inventory Controller to join our Distribution Centre in Yarraville. This role is critical to ensuring inventory accuracy, optimal stock flow, and operational efficiency across the site. You'll play a key part in maintaining stock accuracy, reducing costs, and driving continuous improvement.
As an Inventory Controller, you will be part of a collaborative inventory team responsible for maintaining accurate and efficient stock management within the DC. You'll work closely with warehouse, transport, production, and planning teams to ensure inventory is accurate, available, and aligned to customer demand.
This is a hands-on, operational role where you'll spend time both on the floor and in systems, identifying discrepancies, investigating issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accuracy and efficiency across the site. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in warehouse administration, a logistics graduate, or a warehousing professional looking to step into an inventory-focused position and develop their career further.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, stocktakes, and investigation of discrepancies
- Work with the team to identify root causes of stock issues and implement effective corrective actions
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and service levels
- Manage inventory queries and stakeholder communication
- Build strong relationships across teams, suppliers, and customers
- Support warehouse operations when required.
About You
- Proven experience (2+ years) in inventory control, warehousing, or supply chain operations or similar.
- An understanding of inventory systems and best practice stock management
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and planning processes (MRP/MRPII exposure advantageous)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a positive attitude and continuous improvement mindset
- Forklift licence (desirable)
- Intermediate skills in Excel; exposure to Power BI or data tools
