The Medical Adviser team within the Office of the Deputy Secretary, Population and Public Health provides support across the Population and Public Health Division on priority policy and projects, as well as support for ongoing work within the Division.
You’ll use your skills and understanding of the health system and population health approaches to help us in protecting and promoting the health of the population.

Career Medical Officer, Grade1, starting salary from $147,664 - $220,018 plus Superannuation and annual leave loading, with a 38-hour work week, work location - 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards.
The Medical Advisor team provides high level technical expertise and medical leadership.
You’ll be providing evidence based, timely advice to the Chief Health Officer and teams across the Population and Public Health Division. You’ll use your critical appraisal skills and understanding of epidemiology to support the Division, as well as helping drive and deliver key projects and proposals.
You’ll prepare high-quality written reports, briefs, correspondence, and cabinet documents, and potentially represent NSW Health on internal and external committees.
General medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Qualifications in public health, and a demonstrated understanding of public health.
The ability to work in a small dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
A demonstrated understanding of the health system challenges and opportunities, including the area of population health.
A growth mindset, and commitment to continuous learning and personal development.
