Graduate Social Worker (Early Childhood & NDIS)
Love working with children? Looking for a career where you can make a real difference every day?
At Activity & Play Therapy, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, participate, and thrive. We're looking for a passionate Graduate Social Worker who is excited to begin their career supporting young children with disability and their families within the Early Childhood and NDIS space.
This isn't just another graduate position, it's an opportunity to be mentored, supported, and inspired as you build your confidence and clinical skills in a nurturing environment.
If you have a genuine love for children, enjoy building relationships with families, and are eager to learn, we'd love to meet you.
Why You'll Love Working With Us:
Starting your career can feel overwhelming, which is why we've created a role where you'll never feel like you're doing it alone.
You'll work closely under the guidance and clinical supervision of our Senior Social Worker and Managing Director, who is passionate about mentoring the next generation of social workers. You'll receive regular supervision, coaching, and professional development to help you grow into a confident and capable clinician.
At Activity & Play Therapy, we value curiosity, kindness, collaboration, and continuous learning. We celebrate small wins, support one another, and believe that investing in our people ultimately benefits the children and families we serve.
About the Role:
As our Graduate Social Worker, you'll support young children with disability and developmental differences, along with their families, using a strengths-based, family-centred approach.
No two days are the same. You'll have the opportunity to:
- Support children and families within the Early Childhood and NDIS environment.
- Build trusting relationships with children, parents, carers, and other professionals.
- Assist families to identify goals, navigate supports, and build confidence.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in assessments, planning, and therapeutic supports.
- Develop your report writing and professional communication skills.
- Receive ongoing mentoring, supervision, and professional development.
You might be the perfect fit if you:
- Have recently completed (or are about to complete) a Bachelor of Social Work.
- Have a genuine passion for working with young children and families.
- Are kind, compassionate, patient, and approachable.
- Love learning and are open to feedback and professional growth.
- Enjoy working collaboratively within a supportive team.
- Communicate confidently and respectfully with families and colleagues.
- Are organised, reliable, and motivated to make a positive impact.
- Hold (or are willing to obtain) a Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, National Police Check, and a current driver's licence.
What You'll Receive:
We know graduates thrive when they're supported, so we've built this role with your development in mind.
You'll enjoy:
- Dedicated clinical supervision from an experienced Senior Social Worker.
- Ongoing mentoring and career development.
- A welcoming, supportive, and values-driven team.
- Opportunities to attend professional development and training.
- A structured graduate learning pathway.
- A workplace where your ideas, questions, and growth are genuinely encouraged.
- The opportunity to build a rewarding career in Early Childhood Intervention and the NDIS sector.
Why Activity & Play Therapy?
We're a passionate team committed to helping children reach their full potential through meaningful, family-centred support.
We know that behind every child is a family navigating their own journey, and we believe compassion, collaboration, and connection are at the heart of everything we do.
When you join Activity & Play Therapy, you're joining a workplace where you'll be supported to become the best social worker you can be while making a lasting difference in the lives of children and their families.
If you're ready to start your career with a team that will invest in you as much as you invest in the families you support, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply today and begin a career where every day brings the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact.
