Research Nurse Coordinator: Neuroscience

Coordinate and manage sponsored and investigator‑initiated studies, ensuring efficient recruitment, screening, and collaboration with clinicians and research teams.
About the Role
RMH neuropsychiatry research team is seeking a Research Nurse Coordinator works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary Neuropsychiatry team supporting clinicians investigators, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver protocol‑based clinical research, in line with GCP (Good clinical practice )and Melbourne Health policies reporting to Principal Investigators while coordinating patient care, trial activities, and stakeholder communication..
Key Accountabilities
Coordinate clinical trials, including protocol‑based patient screening, eligibility assessment, and communication with treating clinicians and investigators.
Provide direct patient care and education, supporting patients, families, and ward staff throughout the research process.
Conduct operational reviews of proposed studies and collaborate with the Ethics Coordinator on HREC/RGO submissions.
Work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team of neurologists, psychiatrists, nurses, and scientists to deliver high‑quality research.
Ensure all research activities align with GCP and Melbourne Health policies while supporting Principal Investigators and trial operations.
About You
Registration as a Registered Nurse under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
Commitment to live in the Melbourne Way - putting people first, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together.
A good understanding of the research process (new project submissions and amendments,
Serious Adverse Event (SAE) reporting, essential documentation.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Advanced assessment skills and the demonstrated ability to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team.
Proficient in Microsoft programs: word, excel, access, email, outlook.
Experience in reviewing and developing policies and procedures.
Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to be innovative, resourceful, and adapt to change.
Commit to obtaining and maintaining required certifications, including GCP and IATA, in accordance with Good Clinical Practice requirements.
Desirable
A good knowledge of neuroscience with postgraduate qualifications in neuroscience Nursing
