SOLIDBASE PROJECTS PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to work across our client’s construction projects, including residential homes, commercial buildings, and public spaces throughout Sydney.
This is a full-time position, where you will work as part of a supportive and multidisciplinary team.
Position: Wall and Floor Tiler – Full-Time
Salary: A$90,000 – A$98,000 per annum plus superannuation
Work Location: In person
What We Are Looking For
Applicants should demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- Certificate IV in Wall and Floor Tiling
- At least 2 years of proven experience working as a tiler
- Sound knowledge of tiling techniques, materials, and installation methods
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings
- Good physical fitness and stamina
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities
Key Responsibilities
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, levelling, and priming them to ensure tiles adhere correctly.
- Tile Selection and Layout: Select suitable tiles according to design requirements and arrange them based on detailed plans, layouts, or patterns.
- Tile Cutting: Measure and cut tiles using appropriate tools to fit accurately around pipes, corners, edges, and other obstacles.
- Adhesive Application: Prepare and evenly spread adhesives or mortar onto surfaces to securely fix tiles in place.
- Tile Installation: Install tiles carefully in the required rows or patterns, ensuring proper alignment and consistent spacing.
- Grouting: Apply grout between tiles to create a clean finished appearance and help prevent moisture penetration.
- Sealing: Apply suitable sealants to protect tiled surfaces against stains, moisture damage, and general wear.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect completed tiling work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with design specifications.
- Repair and Maintenance: Replace damaged tiles, carry out re-grouting, and perform general maintenance to keep tiled surfaces in good condition.
- Health and Safety: Follow workplace health and safety requirements and use appropriate protective equipment to minimise accidents and injuries.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate professionally with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and provide suitable recommendations.
