Gravesend Public School is a small rural school situated in northwestern NSW, 25kms west of Warialda and 55kms east of Moree. Catering for 22 amazing students from Kindergarten to Year 6, our school is proud of its family-oriented atmosphere and the strong sense of community that permeates every aspect of school life. Our school community shares high aspirations for our students, fostering a culture of high expectations and quality curriculum delivery. Gravesend Public School enjoys positive partnerships and strong commitment from families, staff, and community members. The Parents and Citizens Association hosts the renowned Gravesend Long Lunch every second year, attracting hundreds of supporters who generously contribute additional resources to enrich our educational programs and improve our infrastructure.
Our school's facilities include a community vegetable garden, cricket nets, outdoor kitchen, football and soccer fields, and playgrounds. The Recreation Grounds next door provides further sporting and recreational resources such as tennis courts, cricket fields, multi-courts, athletics, and cross-country venues. Gravesend Recreation Grounds are the heart and soul of the close-knit community and hosts events such as cricket, fishing competitions, a campdraft and other community events.
Our school community values significant extra-curricular opportunities frequently offered in collaboration with nearby schools. Our dedicated staff comprises a Teaching Principal, part-time Classroom Teacher, part-time School Administration Manager, part-time General Assistant, a part-time Student Learning Support Officer, and casual staff to support student learning and wellbeing.

2. A highly visible and approachable leader who can develop and implement strategic initiatives that build on the strengths of Gravesend Public School while leading a shared vision for continuous improvement, innovation and student success.

Classification Structure for Principals:
The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2017 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Teaching Principal Level TP1 for 2026.
