We are seeking a full time Research, Development & Analysis Manager to join our berry division. In this role, you will lead the design, coordination, and analysis of berry research, trial, and performance programs across Perfection Fresh Australia-owned farms and selected third-party growers. This role will be based in Caboolture, QLD.
Base salary: $79,423 per annum (plus super)
Main Responsibilities:
· Determine, implement and monitor berry research and development strategies, trial programs and project plans aligned with commercial and production objectives.
· Develop and coordinate research projects and variety trials across company farms and grower sites, including trial design, methodologies, timelines and data collection.
· Lead and coordinate research activities by working with farm managers, growers, breeders, nursery partners and technical stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
· Assess the effectiveness and commercial outcomes of research and development activities by evaluating varietal performance, yield, quality, harvest efficiency, labour productivity and grower returns.
· Collect, analyse and interpret research and production data to identify trends, evaluate trial outcomes and support evidence-based decision-making.
· Evaluate new berry varieties and production practices and recommend commercialisation strategies and operational improvements based on research findings.
· Provide technical advice and research-based recommendations to management, production teams and growers on varietal selection, production practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Monitor emerging developments in berry production, breeding programs and research methodologies, and assess their potential application to the organisation's research priorities.
· Prepare and maintain research reports, trial records, databases and technical documentation, and communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualification and Experience:
· A bachelor's in a related field to horticultural/agricultural science.
· At least 2 years of work experience in horticulture, agriculture, berry production, agronomy, research and development, trial coordination, data analysis or a closely related technical role.
Ideal Skills and Attributes:
· Strong data collection, analysis and interpretation skills, with the ability to convert data into practical operational recommendations.
